Foi estudada a influência do tratamento com glutaraldeído nas propriedades mecânicas do pericárdio bovino. Para isso foi estabelecida uma metodologia baseada em norma do ensaio de tração para plásticos segundo a ASTM. Nesta metodologia se estudou o pericárdio bovino e a dura-mater humana conservada em glicerina. Os resultados mostram que a tensão de ruptura do pericárdio bovino tratado com gluta raldeído é superior à dos demais tecidos.

The influence on the mechanical properties of bovine pericardial treated with glutaraldehyde was investigated. A method was used, based on the ASTM tensile test procedure. Using the same technique, bovine pericardial and dura-mater homografts preserved in glicerine were studied. Results show that the ultimate tensile strength of bovine pericardial treated with glutaraldehyde is higher than for the other tissues.
