Para um gerenciamento racional dos sistemas de saúde, é fundamental uma alocação dos recursos baseada na avaliação de tecnologias. Entretanto as informações sobre tecnologias de saúde são em grande parte inexistentes ou imprecisas. Por sua flexibilidade em lidar com este tipo de informação, a inteligência artificial (IA) pode ser de grande utilidade. Foi realizada uma pesquisa bibliográfica com o objetivo de identificar trabalhos que empregam IA com o propósito aqui descrito. Os resultados mostraram a inexistência de trabalhos direcionados para avaliação tecnológica e alocação de recursos em saúde, indicando a necessidade de uma maior colaboração entre cientistas envolvidos com IA e planejadores de saúde para uma melhoria na gerência do setor.

The rational organization of health care involves the appropriate allocation of resources based on information derived from technology assessments. A major drawback though, is that in most instances, the necessary information is either absent or unreliable. In this context, artificial intelligence (AI) techniques could be extremely useful given their ability to deal with incomplete fuzzy informational. A computerized and library search was performed with the objective of identifying the extent to which AI techniques have been applied to resource allocation and/or technology assessment in health care. The results obtained show a total absence of wark in this field, indicating the need to promote closer collaboration between AI scientists and health care decision-makers in order to improve health care planning and management.
