Resumo

Recently, owing to the increasing processing power of digital computers and graphic peripherals, a major interest has developed in the reconstruction of internai body structures so as to create digital objects which can be handled and displayed using techniques developed in Computer Graphics. In this paper we present a method for automatic reconstruction of coronary artery segments from serial slicing in Pathology. The resulting 3D model can be handled and displayed using computer graphics techniques. Results have shown that the proposed system can be a useful tool in the study of coronary artery disease.
