Abstract

Intravenous dripping infusion system based on the weight of the liquid column, used for drug and liquid infusion in clinical applications, are known to change flow over time. The fmal result is a incorrect amount of drug and liquid delivered to paciente. It has been shown that flow change is due to changes in flow control device (atopcock) and in the height of the liquid column. This paper discribes a system that can be connected to the commonly used gravity infusion systems, allowing to make initial flow adjustments, display the flow in a cristal liquid display and keep a constant flow over time. For this the equipment receives the volume programetion and the time requerid by user. The remainder time is exlubited in a cristal liquid display too. There is a pletismograph conected at the cardiac frequency detection system, that is showed in the cristal liquid display referred above.
