Resumo
The handling of unsealed radionuclides in Nuclear Medicine servires is a potential source of internaI exposure to it's staff. The radiation protection measures to be taken depend on the aetivities and types of radionuclides used, and on the type of work. In this work we have analysed specifically the case of exposure to Tc-99m and 1131, in Nuclear Medicine Servires where the work load with these two nuclides is very heavy. We have foUowed standard techniques of area monitoring for surface contamination. Exhaustors ftlters, gloves and masks used by workers were measured. Urine samples were coUected and personnel were monitored in our Whole Body Conter. At the conclusion of our work we were able to identify measures that can be taken to minimize hazards from internaI contamination.

Abstract
The handling of unsealed radionuclides in Nuclear Medicine services is a potential source of internal exposure to it's staff. The radiation proteetion measures to be taken depend on the aetivities and types of radionuclides used, and on the type of work. In this work we have analysed specificaIly the case of exposure to Tc-99m and 1-131, in Nuclear Medicine Services where the work load with these two nuclides is very heavy. We have followed standard techniques of area monitoring for surface contamination. Exhaustors filters, gloves and masks used by workers were measured. Urine sampIes were colleeted and personnel were monitored in our Whole Body Conter. At the conclusion of our work we were able to identify measures that can be taken to minimize hazards from internal contamination.
